WHAT KIND OF CHURCH IS THIS ANYWAY?

Since there is no shortage of churches, why do we believe you should make Prairie Grove Christian Church your church home?

1.     A CHRISTIAN CHURCH.  Our message is that Jesus is the Christ, the
Son of the Living God. We require no other creed than this one.
He alone is Lord and Savior.

2.     A CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST.  The church belongs to Him.  We have
no authority to change  the teachings, rewrite the rules, offer
altered membership requirements, or in any way undermine
His authority as revealed in the Bible.

3.     A CHURCH SEEKING UNITY.  We seek to be one in Christ with all others
whom He calls His own.

4.     A BIBLE CHURCH.  As much as possible, we are trying to imitate the New
Testament principles. That is why our baptism is by immersion, our
communion is every Lord’s Day, our leaders are called Elders,
our preaching is about Christ, and our prayers are in Christ’s name.
Even our Church name is an attempt to imitate the earliest disciples
who were called Christians first at Antioch.

5.     A FREE CHURCH.  Like the earliest churches, ours is an independent
congregation. We have no denominational headquarters to
determine our policies. As a congregation, we elect our own
leaders, select and support our ministers, decide where our
mission money will go, and in every way determine
the programs of the church.

We believe we are not the only Christians, but seek to be Christians only.  It is our desire to speak where the Bible speaks, and be silent where the Bible is silent.  We honor  no  book  but  the Bible, no creed but Christ, and no law but love.  If this common sense approach to God’s Word and His teachings is what you are seeking, we sincerely desire your fellowship as a part of Prairie Grove Christian Church.  In essentials, we seek unity - In non-essentials, liberty -  In all things, love.

Our Philosophy of Ministry

At PGCC, we are hoping to design our ministry around a simple, straightforward Biblical model.

It is simply stated as Love God, Love Others and Serve Others.

Biblically we find that Jesus said the greatest commandment is to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”  And the second is like it: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”  (Matthew 22:37-39)

The Apostle Paul tells us that once we are saved by the grace of God we are “God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”  (Eph. 2:10)

So, we are building devoted followers of Jesus who love God passionately, are learning to love others unselfishly and discovering their place of service in the Kingdom of God.  It is an exciting endeavor.  It is both as simple and as challenging as:  Love God  --  Love Others – Serve Others

We hope you want to be a part of building the Kingdom by helping us fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus:  “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I will be with you always, to the very end of the age.”  (Matthew 28:19-20)

Love God – Love Others – Serve Others
